Need advice for a LEGO zombie apocalypse display
Hello everyone!
I’m planning a large LEGO zombie apocalypse display and I’d love some advice/opinions before I commit to buying sets for it.
The scene would include:
- 12 survivors
- 48 zombies
- 12 zombie dogs
- 5 brick-built perk machines from Call of Duty Zombies and 1 Pack-a-Punch machine
- Weapon walls
The goal is to make it feel like a chaotic survival scene while still being displayable from the front, I want most of the action and important details visible without needing to walk around the build.
At the moment, I’ve been considering using:
- LEGO Ninjago City Gardens
- LEGO Ninjago City Markets
The verticality and cyberpunk atmosphere feel perfect for a zombie outbreak setting, and together they’d create a huge city environment. My concern is whether there’s actually enough OPEN space to comfortably fit that many minifigures and environmental details without the build feeling overcrowded or impossible to read visually.
So I wanted to ask people who own these sets:
- Do you think they would realistically work for a large zombie apocalypse display?
- Are there enough open streets/platforms for this many figures?
- Are there better combinations of sets for something like this?
I’m also completely open to other ideas if anyone has recommendations for:
- Sets with large open urban areas
- Good display-focused layouts
- Modular combinations
- Abandoned/city/apocalypse vibes
- Sets that naturally allow “combat zones” and visibility from the front
I’d really appreciate any opinions or ideas before I invest that amount of money into the setup. I want this to become a proper long-term display project rather than something I regret halfway through.
Thanks in advance!
