LANL Experiences?

Hey all,

I just got offered a position for the Plutonium Facilities Engineering group and was hoping for some honest feedback.

  • How draining is the 45 min commute from Santa Fe? I'd prefer living closer, but Los Alamos is limited and Espanola seems like a no-go zone
  • Rules around music/podcasts? I come from a defense contractor where phones were mostly allowed, just wondering if folks use MP3 players or stream YouTube/Spotify
  • What's the age demographic like? I'm in my early 20s and really don't want to be the only young person around.
  • Any other quality-of-life stuff you wish you knew? I'm moving from a large city in the Midwest.
