This PCB is for a 1 year old portable AC unit. The AC wouldnt power on at all with no signs of life. I highly doubt its a mechanical issue and since im pretty seasoned in working on eletronics, i thought id take a crack at it. Most of my experience is with DC only small electronic PCBs, so a lot of these high voltage AC components are pretty foreign to me.

I found what I learned to be a "trench IGBT" to be shorted across all 3 branches so I removed it and the short was gone from its footprint. I could only locate one other "short" (0.092 ohms) on one of the nearby components which im wondering if it means the component is defective. I can't find any markings on the part however and have no idea what it is.

Thanks for your guys' help!

Trench IGBT: MGD623N

Short located on cap C16Z
