What do we think of the talk about a Starmer departure? Is the instability at the top likely to work in our favour? What could be the fallout if he resigns? Is someone who replaces him likely to back off the earned settlement thing? I’m sure everything depends on who the replacement would be but I don’t know enough about all the names flying around or the actual processes involved in a PM shuffling to figure any of the possibilities out myself. I’m desperate for hope but I don’t feed myself comforting lies, I just genuinely don’t know what this chaos could do, if anything, about the earned settlement proposal and if hope is possible so I thought I’d look here for theoretical perspectives.
