Needle galaxy

Caldwell 38 - Needle galaxy :)

A beautiful edge-on spiral galaxy, in Coma Berenices

Messier 106

Messier 106 🙂

A spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici, located 23.5 million light-years from us, with a diameter of 135,000 light-years. In the center of the galaxy lies a supermassive black hole, and the galaxy is composed of approximately 400 billion stars.

81 x 5 min - Luminance, IMX 533 cooled to -15°

117 x 5 min - RGB, IMX 294 cooled to -15°

170 x 5 min - Hydrogen alpha, IMX 533, cooled to -15°

Messier 101 - Pinwheel galaxy

A spiral galaxy in the Ursa Major constellation, located ~22 million light-years away from us 🙂

I re-edited this image, adding hydrogen-alpha as well 🙂 30 hours with a modified DSLR + another 7 hours with an IMX 533 mono at -15

For RGB, 25 hours with a Nikon D780

Messier 51 - Whirlpool Galaxy 🙂

A spiral galaxy in the Canes Venatici constellation, located 31 million light-years away from us.

M51 (the galaxy in the center) and NGC 5195 (the dwarf galaxy on the right) together form one of the most famous pairs of interacting galaxies.

Currently 12 hours of DSLR exposure for RGB, and 18 hours of hydrogen alpha with a DSLR + another 14 hours of hydrogen alpha with an IMX 533 mono, at -15. I plan to add some more hours of luminance with the 533 mono after the full moon passes 😆
