Am I missing clues?

Quests for secrets seem to lack clues and directions to a point even Dark Souls / Elden Ring vague quests seem far easier. Like for example - Old Rattle Drum quest, I stumbled on on location on pure accident - no indication what do do next without an internet guide pretty much. Am I supposed to blindly fish for location where screen turns grey by running whole chapter map??

Otherwise fun game, but not really sure about the secrets.. FromSoftware quests are also vague and secretive, but this seems like next level.. Ar am I really missing clues here?

Which aspects in particular makes you like souls-like genre?

For me, I'd say is relaxation it comes with it - light on story, minimal dialogue, no fetch quests. The other related thing I'd name is challenge which not only makes it relaxing, but also very engaging as I tend to get bored with unchallenging and handholding games to a point of falling asleep.

Sure I also like narrative driven games, but often I'm to tired to focus this much on dialogues and such.

Still chasing my backlog, not that much time to play games recently - so more than ever I value quality time withing games. Ended up refunding Nioh 3 - I just couldn't see myself finishing it. Btw, loved Nioh 1 and 2.

  • First - it looks dated and in some aspects kinda looks worse than Nioh 2. What's worse, still doesn't run well and there's no justification for such iffy performance in graphics.
  • Next - going open world literally added nothing good, it's just Ubisoft type open world, with no good sense of exploration like in Elden Ring. Previous design was fitting better without pointless waste of time on traversal.
  • Never was huge fan of Nioh's RGB RNG loot system, but even more so this such in open world design, as this makes nothing worthwhile to discover as in games with fixed items.
  • Didn't like combat system change. Liked the old system way more, compared to splitting it into warrior and ninja, each with different mechanics, change to how stances work now.
  • plus I've heard (didn't have time to experience it myself) there's quite heavy boss reuse.

So at 2 hour mark, I didn't see myself risking 60€ (in recent discount) and ended up refunding it. Nothing was really clicking for me. 80€ launch price is even bigger bullshit, with game looking so dated and having asset reuse.
