I've noticed in the last few months a lot of people have far too many scraper addons in AIOStreams, and I want to say why I believe this is pointless and how it affects other users. To clarify, I am talking about scraper addons (torrentio, comet, etc etc), not necessarily other addons such as Cinemeta alternatives or metadata.

1. Most scraper addons grab torrents from the same public trackers and hash databases. Therefore, having 3, 4 maybe 5 at most scrapers such as Debridio (essentially no downtime), Torrentio (wide range), StremThru Torz (crowdsourced database), maybe TorrentsDB (if you want results from limetorrents and a few other extra trackers) and possibly a library addon (such as TorBox search) is sufficient for scrapers. This is just an example setup of diverse addons adding something different from one another, rather than blindly adding 10 or 15 addons.

Having more on top of this adds extremely little at most, unless you have a specific purpose for something which requires additional addons like Sootio or Jackett.

2. Since AIOStreams is communicating with scrapers on its end, not yours, it does all the work. 10,000 users with 10 addons requesting one piece of content means 100,000 requests sent to AIOStreams' servers. It must receive the responses, parse them, deduplicate them, then rank and sort them.

This is a large amount of stress to put on its CPU, memory and network i/o. To be conservative, let's say there are 5,000 active at peak time. If 5,000 people with 10 addons fetch for content, that is 50,000 requests being made on AIOStream's behalf. If 5,000 of those people dropped the addons to 4 instead of 10, that cuts the number of requests to 20,000, a 60% reduction of traffic.

I'm not saying you must only have 4 scraper addons and not a single one or two more. I understand the need for additional addons for purposes such as multi-language or private tracker usecases. All I am saying is look at your AIOStreams addons and reconsider if you really need as many addons as you do. If so, great. If not, cut some down, as the numbers do add up and can reduce chances of downtime, latency, and server congestion.

Also I understand not everyone has an excessive amount of addons, but as Stremio grows and with it more beginners, it is important to be constantly optimising our setups and sharing our knowledge and thoughts with one another.
