I'm trying to ID a TV clip I remember seeing years ago.

It showed people happily queuing to get a free, very ordinary household item (I think a bucket). TV crews were interviewing recipients; it read like either a feel‑good local news story, a government/community giveaway, or a retail promo/PR stunt. Could also have been satire/comedy.

Details I recall:

  • Shown on TV (local news or a sketch), interviews with smiling people who "loved" the item.
  • Item was mundane and useful (not food or hygiene kits).
  • Likely English‑speaking country (UK, Ireland, Australia, NZ, Canada — maybe local/regional).
  • Color TV era; could be anytime 1970–2020.
  • Seemed like a regular occurance, like a free gift to voters every election, but might have been a one‑off or small regional campaign

What I’m looking for:

  • Any clip/article or memory of a giveaway like this (real promo, council giveaway, retail promotion, or satirical sketch).
  • Even local/regional leads or subreddit threads that discussed it.

Any leads would be hugely appreciated :)
