Heya guys, so my dog (17y/o pomeranian mixed with ?) recently had a checkup for her heart disease after a syncopal episode, and it was recommended to us by our vet to consider shaving her despite her absolutely thicc double coat as we head into the super hot season. I'm just looking for some advice as she's a very high anxiety girl and already doesn't tolerate groomers (I'll have to do it myself). I'm just trying to get more information before I do it as well as some life advice for my sweet girl.
She's active (not too active), she's on a special diet and she's on medication for it already. She was diagnosed four or so years ago and she's doing very well with her disease progression. The vet also said we also need to up her protein/calorie intake as she's lost some weight.
The absolute diva has an extremely sensitive stomach, is very picky and has about 4 teeth left. She can't eat chicken or pork. Is there anything you can recommend for weight gain that wouldn't affect her heart disease? She had special dehydrated beef liver treats that she loved but they've been discontinued :((
Any advice is welcome ✨
