Never owned a good watch before — help me choose my first one

Hey everyone, I just finished college and I’m looking to buy my first proper watch. Honestly, throughout college I always noticed professors and seniors wearing good watches and it always felt like a classy thing to have, but I never owned one myself.

Now that college is over, I want to finally invest in a good affordable watch that looks mature, works for daily wear, and can last for many years. I’ve seen people say that spending a bit more on a quality watch is worth it because it lasts a very long time, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

My budget is affordable/mid-range (not luxury), and I prefer something:

Durable and long lasting

Good for everyday use

Looks professional and stylish

Worth the money in the long run

Suitable for a fresher/young professional

I’m open to analog, metal strap, leather strap, or even automatic watches if they’re worth it.

Please recommend some good starter watches and brands. Also tell me why you recommend them and how long they’ve lasted for you.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

How are you all doing?

I'm dealing with a strange issue. I have an Asus Vivobook 14x oled(RTX 3050) and yesterday I formatted the laptop to reinstall Windows 11.
