I have a bag and a pair of boots that need some maintenance- the boots in particular will last me long, but will need some new treads.
I'm not from Vancouver, but I've been here long enough to notice a trend in rising prices for increasingly poor service. On top of that, people seem to buy stuff new and expensive, and then just throw it away, reducing demand for repairs and maintenance.
Where I'm from, there are still a few small businesses run by an old craftsperson that can do quality work on simple goods for a non-luxury price. I also find these places charming, and important to support. Does Vancouver, or the surrounding neighbourhoods, still have anything like that?
