Cedric swinging at Spotify. I hope they pull their music from the platform.
For those that know the “music industry” better than I do, would it be possible for The Mars Volta’s music to be taken off of Spotify? My understanding is that Universal has streaming rights. Unsure of the Warner Brothers and Clouds Hill situations. Tremulant might be the easiest to pull. Anyway, Spotify is evil and we gotta stop using, folks.
My first Mars Volta show, 22 years ago
Included the debut of The Widow, as well as a fierce guitar duel between Omar and John Frusciante on Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt! How the time flies T__T
The anti- nostalgia act
I'm following Cedric on ig right (like you do) and as forever dude is active in the comments
A lot of what he's said - I think since the emergence of "2000s era bands" doing nostalgia-esque tours - is that they're not a nostalgia act when people request a full DITC album tour
I really like this idea that *we did not end there*, that they're still active and what they did is just what they did. As a growing older dude I appreciate the fight is still there, in the artistry. They've never been unopinionated and to see it as deep and alive as it was in ATDI is so inspirational ~ If I could say that without cringing ~
Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt
This song is amazing. It might be my favorite. The way it sounds like it breaks down and jumbles at the end like he’s losing touch with the living. And then the climax of “who brought me here, forsaken, deprived and wrought with fear…”. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the middle section. I can’t describe it well but I know I love it. Fantastic song.
Oh lord oh lord you’ve made it
Such a good ending track to DITC. Why wasn’t this originally on streaming services or US vinyls?
