Soulful House 90s & 00s - Angel Deelite Vol. 2

Hello everyone at r/SeamlessSets, I hope you're all well and having a great weekend so far. 🙂

It's another tribute to Angel Deelite, an awesome Soulful House club night that ran 20 ish years ago in Manchester, UK. Like the first installment, it's a who's who of Soulful House from the late 90s and 00s. Here it is and it's the first time I've shared this publicly:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5gyVRoCmE4rAyvCPGMfxC8?si=ommUlV23QXip6Rocuh2v7w

As I loved Angel Deelite so much, I've put a lot of effort into editing this to give it a live/DJ performance feel. I hope that comes across. I've pushed the mix engine very hard and some of the tricks are as follows.

- All 16 bar custom transitions (mainly harmonic).

- Used tracks with additional acapellas in them to simulate 3 and 4 deck mixing.

- Track overlaps during the mix window to create remix type events.

- Doubled up vocals and extended vocal hooks.

- Created custom re-edits of tracks and recontextualised them by using multiple edited down versions.

- Mixed between original tracks and remixes. Cued in the exact same points or very similar points and used the centre bass swap as a cross fader so it's very difficult to tell where the blend is.

- Exploited ghost transitions.

- Fixed transitions with data anchor points etc.

Tracks by MAW, Joey Negro/Dave Lee, Urban Blues Project, Jasper Street Company, David Morales, Kings of Tomorrow, Barbara Tucker, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Soul Central, Moloko, Sunkids, DJ Sneak, Simpson Tune, Grant Nelson and many more.

This week, we wanted to know: what song should be used in the final scene of a movie? Whether it feels cinematic, bittersweet, triumphant, or like the perfect ending to a story, we want to hear your picks. Let us know anything that comes to mind. We appreciate everyone’s input!

Add to my list of songs/OSTs with subtle, strange synth moments (Mindhunter, Annihilation, Nine Inch Nails, M83, Raised by Wolves)

Hello!

I've been making a selective playlist of songs with moments of a strange synth that feels a bit ethereal, with moments of heavy synth! These range from normal songs, to movie/game OSTs, etc.

Take a listen and share any songs you think fit!

[EDM/Dance] An EDM playlist I’ve been working for a long time. It includes in my opinion some of the best EDM based tracks. There are a lot of recognisable songs in it with very familiar artists and new once as well. Hope you enjoy !

It’s a long story but the love of my life is back in my life 😊😊😊 She’s a very serious indie/emo performer who sings/plays guitar and piano (and apparently banjo as well now lmao, I’m just a lowly guitar player out here with my SG and telecaster 😂)

I was hoping for some help making a playlist of some lovey/fun songs for when we reconnect! - some examples of things she enjoys the most lately are Pinegrove, indie, emo, Mom Jeans, Snarky Puppy, Foo Fighters, funk/r&b (especially with fun/more advanced vocal work), hip hop, and Billie Eilish.

Oh and I’m not too sure how things are done on this sub, but honestly even single song suggestions are better than the best thing - if you don’t feel like making a full playlist just commenting or dming any suggestions is more than enough to be helpful :)

Looking for those melodic vibes like some of Don Toliver, A$AP Rocky, and Tyler/whatever artists you think have it. Also looking for those tracks where rappers jump on pop songs. If you’ve got a long one, send the link!
