Mario Galaxy Movie fixed absolutely everything you could have wished for from the first movie
I loved the first movie. I was smiling from ear to ear during the whole thing.
but it was a once in a lifetime experience. I didn't think a sequel would cause the same warm feeling, and yet... here we are. I simply left the cinema unable to stop talking about it. I loved it even more than the first and some of the reasons why are:
- The movie is slightly longer than the first. This time, it didn't feel rushed. the pacing was steady all the time.
- There is a LOT more action here. I am not a person who cares too much about action scenes, but, boy, they did include many more of those and they are great! Easy to ready, good choreography, full of fun moments. Who would have guessed?
- NO 80s songs. It is all original. LOTS of medleys.
- A healthy dose of references, new and old, as expected.
- Did I mention how the pacing is good, already?
- There is a nice share of the spotlight. no scene lingers too much on a single character. The cast feels always present, because everyone is always participating as much as the plot allows it.
- Some scenes are surprisingly full of visual impact.
Overall, just a fun movie. When I was watching the credits, it hit me that that was it and that another movie wouldn't release anytime soon and it was somehow a bit sad to have had that thought.
I am glad it turned out to be what it is. Hope you all that are going to see it can enjoy as much as I did!
