Hello everyone
I need your help today. I’ve bought Razer laptops on several occasions and restored them using a recovery USB stick, but with my latest purchase, a Razer Blade 14 (2024), I’m running into some new problems. I bought the device without a hard drive.
I have, of course, also tried to create a standard USB stick using the Windows Media Creation Tool and install Windows via that. However, this doesn’t work because the hard drive (or the hard drive driver) isn’t recognised. The hard drive is definitely working, as there is a fully functional Linux system on it that I can boot up. Therefore, the only option left is to restore it using the Razer recovery stick.
I naturally obtained the relevant ZIP file from Razer’s support page, but unfortunately, no matter what I do, it doesn’t work:
As NTFS -> it isn’t recognised
As exFAT -> it is recognised, but I get the WinPE error
As FAT32 -> doesn’t work in this case, as there is a 6GB file in the ZIP file
I’ve also tried creating a stick via Balenatecher, of course, but that didn’t work either. I’ve even contacted Razer Support, but they just refer me to their instructions, which assume that I could still access a Windows operating system and create a recovery stick via that.
