If MI has any senses now, they should think long term.
Remove Hardik from team or atleast remove him from captaincy before 2027 IPL.
In 2027 IPL give captaincy to Surya, not as long term but give vice captaincy to Tilak and groom him, might even pitch him for state captaincy like Patidar.
Before 2028 IPL we have mega auction, go for a fresh start. Rohit might retire, give him a farewell, release Hardik, Surya would be old, might buy back or sum or retain cheaply.
Tilak would be 25 in 2028 IPL, and I think he is the only long term captain whom I see for MI now.
That's the only hope I have from my team to go back to the old winning ways, not by buying finished guys like Boult, Deepak, Shardul etc.
Edit- After reading all the comments I do think now that it isn't that black and white. Tilak do needs consistency but my point is if we remove Hardik (while most of us want), I don't see any captain for the mega auction. (Maybe we gotta go intl route?)
