Does what it says on the tin, I guess. This was my first SMD recap job; I think it turned out well except for one spot where I scorched the solder mask. There was mild damage from the leaky electrolytic caps; I had to clean up the legs of a couple chips and scrape off some infected solder mask (I then tinned it and covered it with nail polish). The PSU was fairly nuked by cap leakage; I did my best to clean it out and replaced the electrolytics. I made a post about that venture [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageApple/s/mU5Q6EpMIs). I cleaned the floppy drive, replaced the gear, and relocated it. I was able to get it to read some Mad disks and some 800k disks I wrote with my plus; however it is largely inconsistent / unreliable. I can’t even get it to format a disk.
There is a tear in the cable of the mouse. On the keyboard I had to repair a few keys with glue; I don’t recall exactly which. Both work fine.
Aside from the FDD issue, the system works well. I have run it for several hours at a time without issue. Sometimes I have to reseat the PSU plug after reassembling the machine, but it works. HDD hasn’t given me any grief but I haven’t run it through any diagnostics.
Open to trading for Sega stuff; I have a Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast but would like their other consoles. Open to trading for Genesis cartridges as well as peripherals for Genesis / Sat / DC.
Pulled these two color classics out of the closet , the one of them made a staticky sound and picture was jumping even though it seemed to get better as it warmed up . Not sure if that’s the analog board , the CRT itself or the logic board which hasn’t been recapped. Also I haven’t turned it on in a few years .
Color Classic #2 turned on fine with no issues , except the picture had a slight green hue to it , after 5 minutes of using it though it suddenly went away and picture was bright and normal colors. This one also has the LC 575 mystic logic board which was recapped years ago by my buddy, I also haven’t turned it on in several years . It works well I love the color classics. The better one has a 4GB hard drive split into 2 x 2GB partitions and I think they both have the max ram in them . They also both have Ethernet networks cards .
I can post more pictures and video if anyone is interested , I have Zip drives and an external SCSI cd-rom drive also to use with the classics . I’ll test them more and test the floppy drives too.
I can take more pictures also of logic boards and the classics themselves . Both in good physical condition, the better one is much lighter not as yellowed as the other one . Would anyone local maybe be interested in purchasing them in the Upstate NY area ? Not sure if I want to sell or not and not sure how much I would ask yet either . I also have plenty of different ADB keyboards and mouse’s .
