Which Engineering Colleges Can I Get in Pune or Mumbai? (70 CET Percentile)

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my 12th and I'm looking for engineering colleges in Pune or Mumbai.

My profile:

\- 12th Boards: 50%

\- MHT CET: Around 70 percentile

I'm open to colleges that accept donations/management quota, and my budget is around ₹3–4 lakhs per year.

I'd really appreciate help from fellow students and seniors regarding:

\- Colleges I can realistically get into

\- Your experiences with your college

\- Placement situation and overall college life

\- Suggestions for branches

I'm not particularly focused on Computer Science. In fact, I'm open to other branches as well. One reason I'm confused is that CS seems quite difficult, and I'm not sure if it's the right fit for me.

If anyone was in a similar situation or knows good options in Pune/Mumbai, I'd love to hear your advice and experiences.

Thanks in advance!

How do people in their 20s even make friends in this city?

I'm 23 and lately this thought has been bothering me a lot.

My school class had barely 20 students, and over the years almost everyone drifted apart. We don't really talk anymore. I did my college from jammu so dont have any one from college around to be a close frnd.

What makes it harder is that Ahmednagar doesn't feel like a city where people casually meet new people. Most people already have their own friend circles, and many of the people I know still have pretty strict parents, so even hanging out isn't easy. Sometimes I feel like everyone just goes to work/college and comes back home.

I genuinely wonder: is it even possible to make new friends in your 20s here?

Whenever I read advice online, people suggest joining clubs, activities, hobby groups, sports, volunteering, etc. But honestly, I don't even know where those things exist in Nagar. I rarely come across social events where strangers can actually connect.

The older I get, the more I realize how much harder friendship becomes when you're no longer forced into the same classroom every day.

Has anyone else from Nagar felt this way? How did you meet new people? Or is everyone else just as lonely and pretending they're not?

Would love to hear your experiences.

A thief just pushed me back months financially

Last year I graduated, got my first job at a startup, and started earning around 50k/month. I come from a humble background — throughout my entire BTech I used a 10k Redmi phone while seeing everyone around me carrying flagship devices.

I always dreamed of owning one good phone someday. After starting work, I finally saved enough and bought an S24 Ultra worth around 70k. It honestly meant a lot more to me than “just a phone.” It was something I worked hard for and felt proud of.

And now it’s gone. Stolen during a train journey from Bangalore to Ahilyanagar after just 6 months of use at Daund railway station.

Yes, maybe I made the mistake of not keeping it hidden properly. But I genuinely don’t understand how people can just steal from someone like this. That phone wasn’t some luxury toy for me — it was months of work, savings, and a dream I waited years for.

The worst part is the thief probably can’t even properly use the device because it’ll likely get blocked or stripped for parts. So what was the point? For a few thousand rupees, you push someone else back by months financially and mentally.

People say “you’ll earn it back,” and yes, maybe I will. But it still hurts because for someone from my background, buying something like that wasn’t easy at all.

I know the police probably won’t help much here, but man… this genuinely shattered me.

I’m genuinely convinced the Valorant night market/store algorithm isn’t random at all.

For months my store was absolute trash. Nothing good, same boring skins every refresh. Then recently I finally bought a knife skin after a long time because my market randomly had something decent.

Literally the next day I got Pookie Odin in my store and bought that too. Since then, for almost a week straight, my shop has been insanely good with multiple skins I actually like.

It honestly feels like Riot detects when you start spending again and suddenly starts feeding you better skins to keep you buying more. Then after some time the store slowly goes back to garbage and the cycle repeats again.

Maybe I’m just overthinking, but this doesn’t feel random anymore 💀
